Please note this event has now sold out.

Develop your skills in Chinese calligraphy in this intermediate course in Running Script at The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts.

Running script, 行書, also known as semi-cursive script, approximates normal handwriting in which strokes and, more rarely, characters are allowed to run into one another. When writing running script, the brush leaves the paper less often than in the regular script. Characters appear less angular and rounder.

Under the guidance of Dr Xuzhuang Li, you will refresh your knowledge of material preparation, brushwork, and practice exercises to gradually build up your confidence in writing characters and finally simple phrases.

Please note, students should have completed Introduction to Chinese Calligraphy: Standard Script at the School or have had previous experience elsewhere with Chinese calligraphy.

All materials will be provided.

This course is part of the Bagri Foundation Open Programme at The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts which aims to develop Asian arts courses at The School.
