Award winning Film Director, Writer and Producer, Professor Andrew Silver, leads this session with the aim to cultivate an appreciation of cinema as an art form, and equip members with the basic skills required to fully understand this medium.

Silver discusses Alfred Hitchock’s 1959 masterpiece, North by Northwest, as well as his own latest film, May it Happen for You.

This talk is part of the Bagri Foundation’s World Cinema Club which aims to promote a deeper appreciation of cinema at meetings that are engaging and informative.


Prof. Andrew Silver

Professor Silver is an award winning Film Director, Writer and Producer and a leading authority on cinema, with a film career stretching a total of four decades. As a graduate of MIT with a doctorate from Business School, Andrew began his career in Film as a teacher of Film Analysis at Brandeis University in 1968. Since then he has been involved in cinema from an array of different perspectives- including directing, writing, scriptwriting.
